Social media is the Web 2.0 technology, or even frame of mind, that allows anyone to contribute. Social media is also referred to in business as "user-generated media" (UGM) or "consumer-generated media" (CGM). No longer are mainstream media (MSM) sources the sole message producers; powerful online messages can come from anyone with a computer, using any number of the following social media tools:
